Frequently Asked Questions
WildPlay
Does my child need a diagnosis?
No. Our WildPlay sessions are designed for anyone to participate.

Can I use my NDIS funding?
Our WildPlay programs are not Occupational Therapy services so funding may not be used for these purposes. However, if your child's NDIS goals and funding align we are happy to invoice for services. Please note this may not be possible in all circumstances as most services under the NDIS cannot be billed in advance of a service, and our WildPlay programs are billed by the term prior to it starting.
Do I stay with my child?
Yes, parents stay and participate in our WildPlay sessions with their child.
We believe that there is no such thing as bad weather when you have the right clothing (and a good sense of adventure!). We will generally not cancel sessions due to weather, as we develop resilience and an ability to adapt through these experiences. However, in the case of extreme weather such as extreme heat, high winds, electrical thunderstorms and heavy rain, sessions may be cancelled. For sessions that are cancelled by RWT, families will be offered a make up session or if this is not possible, will be credited.
We have to miss a day, can I get reimbursed?
Unfortunately, no. To ensure viability of our programs they are billed for the term.
While we may operate in weather that is challenging for children at first, we must bill for the entire term, including any session that are not attended. It is our hope that through their experience at Rosewood Wild Therapy, children are able to develop a resilience for, and love of, all kinds of weather.

Will my child get dirty?
We sure hope so! A dirty child is generally a good sign that your child has not only had a lot of fun at WildPlay, but also experienced the developmental benefits of messy/sensory play. We suggest having a towel, plastic bag, spare clothes and shoes ready for when you pick up your child, and to be just as excited about the mud as they are!
Where do children go to the bathroom?
We have a camp-style toilet inside our 'Therapy Space'. This includes a camping toilet set up in an ensuite tent, with hand washing facilities. Our neighbours, 'The Davis Farm', also have a portaloo which is accessible.
What should we wear?
-
A hat
-
Light long sleeve pants
-

What should we bring?
Water, spare clothes, RWT will supply sunscreen and insect repellant if needed. Pack wet weather gear if rain predicted, or bring spare clothes for pick up
Will my child be safe?
While we encourage measured risk taking at RWT, our 1 acre therapy space is completely enclosed, ensuring the safety and security of all children.
